Abstract: El presente artículo se enmarca dentro de tres objetivos: 1) Recoger la historia de la formación en mediación familiar en Canarias y la labor pionera que al respecto ha desempeñado el Centro de Orientación Familiar de Canarias; 2) Presentar los su- puestos teóricos-conceptuales o paradigmas a partir de los cuales se ha inspirado la formación impartida en la Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria; 3) Contextualizar y justificar los objetivos de la Escuela Canaria de Práctica en Mediación Familiar-Formación Continua, que crea e impulsa el Centro de Orientación Familiar de Canarias.
This article has three objectives: 1) To know the history of Family Mediation Training in the Canary Islands and the pioneering work that has meant for the Family Planning Centre of the Canary Islands, 2) To present the theoretical and conceptual assumptions from which has been inspired the training at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, 3) To contextualise and justify the objectives of The Canary School of Practice in Family Mediation In-Service Education, which creates and conducts the Family Guidance Center of the Canary Islands.
