This paper develops a didactic proposal for the Baccalaureate English classroom, in which students research on the gender equality in the working world by means of Virginia Woolf’s essay Professions for Women. Through a CLIL methodology, which allows for the design and implementation of activities that promote both the acquisition of the English language and the communicative and intercultural skills, students are going to improve their intercultural competence. The proposal includes activities that focus on several passages of the essay. They are aimed at emphasising the reflection on sexist values and attitudes that are still present in our society.
