Problemas y dificultades en la traducción del idioma japonés: el caso de Kimi no Na wa

Abstract

El presente trabajo de fin de máster tiene como objetivo analizar los elementos lingüísticos y culturales del idioma japonés más susceptibles de generar dificultades y problemas de traducción en la película Kimi no Na wa (conocida como Your Name en occidente), del director Makoto Shinkai. Para ello, evaluaremos la forma en la que, en el doblaje español e inglés, se ha abordado su traducción, identificando los casos susceptibles de generar problemas traductológicos y describiendo las estrategias utilizadas en cada uno de ellos. Este análisis nos permitirá determinar el criterio general que se ha seguido a la hora de traducir elementos exclusivos de la lengua y cultura japonesa.

The aim of this master's dissertation is to analyze the linguistic and cultural elements of the Japanese language that are most likely to generate translation problems in the film Kimi no Na wa (known as Your Name in the West), by director Makoto Shinkai. To this end, we will evaluate the way both Spanish and English dubbing have approached the translation of the film, identifying the cases that may generate translation problems and describing the strategies used to address each one of them. This analysis will allow us to identify the general criteria that have been followed when translating elements that are exclusive to the Japanese language and culture.
