Luna verde, de Joaquín Beleño, y las esclusas del lenguaje

Abstract

La novelística canalera no ha tenido una presencia significativa en los estudios literarios latinoamericanos fuera de Panamá, a pesar de trabajar temas comunes con otras literaturas nacionales de la región. A Joaquín Beleño (1922-1988) se le reconoce como iniciador de este género con la publicación de Luna verde en 1941. Nos centraremos en el tratamiento del lenguaje en esta novela, pudiéndose hablar de auténtica novela oralizada, con lo cual llega a convertir el uso de la lengua en el parámetro para la construcción de la otredad. La lengua en Luna verde de Joaquín Beleño, como el Canal, que se abre y se cierra, junta al tiempo que separa y contribuye a la construcción de una identidad problematizada, fronteriza, heterogénea.

Canal novel has not had a significant presence in Latin American literary studies outside of Panama, despite working on common themes with other national literatures in the region. Joaquín Beleño (1922-1988) was recognized as the initiator of this genre with the publication of Luna verde in 1951. We will focus on the interesting treatment that is applied to language in this novel, being able to speak of an authentic oralized novel and reaching to turn the use of language into a parameter for the construction of otherness. In short, Joaquín Beleño’s language in Luna verde, like the Canal, which opens and closes, joins the time it separates, contributes to the construction of a problematized, border, heterogeneous identity.
