Antonio Cavanillas de Blas: una nueva fórmula para la novela histórica

Abstract

En el actual panorama literario, caracterizado por la invasión de las novelas (seudo)históricas, que, a veces, ni siquiera tienen una base real, y dejan al margen la investigación, las novelas de Cavanillas ocupan un lugar aparte porque: tratan sobre personajes y acontecimientos reales; están bien documentadas; utilizan una fórmula que combina la narración en el tiempo real con recuerdos o fragmentos de correspondencia o diario personal, ampliando así la dimensión temporal y espacial; y tienen una estructura de bieldungsroman/novela picaresca centrada en temas fundamentales, de dimensión universal humana.

At the present-time literary panorama, characterized for the invasion of (pseudo)historical fictions, that, sometimes, don’t have a real base, and let aside the investigation, Cavanillas’s novels hold a separate place because: they have to do with real characters and events; they all are accurately documented; they use a formula that joins the narration in real time with memories or pieces of correspondence or personal diary, enlarging thus the temporal and spatial dimension; and they have Bieldungsroman/picaresque novel’s structure focused in fundamental themes of universal human dimension
