Resumen: A woman aged 46 years was referred to the Tropical Medicine Unit from the Emergency Service with abdominal pain, intermittent diarrheal and transient cutaneous lesions. The patient, from Gran Canaria, Spain, had spent 15 days travelling in Costa Rica. During the trip she had consumed raw foods and untreated water and had frequented horse stables. Complementary tests detected mild eosinophilia (1560 eosinophils/μL). A stool ova and parasite test was performed after Ritchie's concentration method yielded negative results on three samples.
