Título: | Long-term wind climate in a large oceanic island harbour | Autores/as: | Rodriguez, G. | Clasificación UNESCO: | 2510 Oceanografía | Fecha de publicación: | 2002 | Publicación seriada: | WIT Transactions on the Built Environment | Conferencia: | Third International Conference on The Management, Operation, Design and Building of Ports, Marinas and Other Maritime Works, Maritime Engineering and Ports | Resumen: | Knowledge of wind climate is of great importance fort he adequate design and construction of harbours and for operational considerations. Statistical properties of wind climate at LasPalmas Port, a large harbour located in an small oceanic island, are studied by using an incomplete data set of maximum daily wind speed covering a period of 10 years. Annual and seasonal variabilities, a swell as probability of extreme values occurrence are examined. Additionally, a time-frequency representation of this nonstationary time series is developed. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10553/51981 | ISBN: | 1853128147 | ISSN: | 1743-3509 | Fuente: | WIT Transactions on the Built Environment [ISSN 1743-3509], v. 62, p. 191-200.
