As a consequence, this region is characterised by a large mesoscale turbulent activity. This paper deals with the effects of the most pronounced topographic features of the Canarian Archipelago and the north-west African coastal shelf on the Canary Current flow and the resulting mesoscale structures. To reach this goal, features observed in satellite images are compared with results of laboratory experiments carried out in a Coriolis rotating basin. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10553/48532 | ISBN: | 0-7803-6359-0 | ISSN: | 2153-6996 | DOI: | 10.1109/IGARSS.2000.858137 | Fuente: | International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium (IGARSS),v. 5, p. 1830-1832 |
