Fuentes británicas y alemanas sobre la Armada española a finales de 1942

Abstract

The aim of this article is to evaluate the utility of foreign sources in exploring the recent history of the Spanish Armed Forces, and to assess if they can compensate for the difficulties of accessing national sources. To accomplish this objective, the article analyzes a British report and a German one about the Spanish Navy in November 1942 and January 1943, respectively. Although these reports have their limitations, they confirm previous hypotheses and provide information about the perceptions that influenced the making of the British and German foreign policy towards Spain during the Second World War.
