Título: | Description générale des pêcheries artisanales aux îles Canaries | Autores/as: | González Pérez, José Antonio | Clasificación UNESCO: | 531201 Agricultura, silvicultura, pesca | Fecha de publicación: | 1991 | Editor/a: | ORSTOM | Conferencia: | Symposium International ORSTOM-IFREMER (1989) | Resumen: | The multispecific small-scale fisheries in the Canaries are diversified in therms of fishing gear. The varied origins of fishermen is the principal cause for this diversity. Technological and biological interactions, together with the seasonality of fishing techniques drive the dynamics of such diversity. In 1987, the artisanal sector included 1765 boats, producing 2000 million pesetas for 4500 families. The artisanal fleet is highly diversified and old-fashioned. Tuna and coastal pelagic species fisheries are the most important. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10553/122025 | ISBN: | 2-7099-1055-1 | Fuente: | La recherche scientifique face à la pêche artisanale / Durand, J.R., J.
