Una propuesta metodológica para el estudio histórico de la ortografía: el ejemplo de la tt en el español moderno (1550-1800)

Abstract

Starting from the idea of the standardization in progress that characterizes Spanish orthography between the 16th and the 18th centuries, this paper aims to analyze the utilization of <tt> in a corpus of texts written in Spain between 1550 and 1800. The results of this research show that both the approach to the history of orthography and the methodology employed here can be very useful in obtaining a deeper understanding of the diachronic processes that define the orthographic development of the Spanish language and its present situation.
