The umbo-stage was observed at 11-days-old followed by the pediveliger stage at 26 days post-fertilization. The larval development showed two growth phases: mixotrophic and exotrophic. The compositions of diets significantly affected larval growth with higher rates in larvae fed mixed microalgae in comparison with the ones fed a monospecific diet. Fatty acid analysis revealed that the larval growth was influenced by the proportions of dietary DHA and EPA.
