Dinámica sedimentaria en la Playa de la Barca (Jandía,Fuerteventura): variabilidad morfológica y granulométrica

Abstract

Present paper deals w·ith the sedimentary variability measured at La Barca Beach (Jandía, Fuerteventura). Da ta íncludes three beach profiles surveyed every three months during t\VO years, sediment sampfes collected for grain size analysis and the accurate topographíc levelling of the a rea. Resu/ts from the analysis of such a data set are that lhe northern secta,; which is an r sma/1 pockct beach separated from La Barca Beach by around 150 m of rockv subslate1 behaves as a nea,-/y isolated secto1; with a great seasonal variability both in grain size and vo/ume changes. On the other hand, thc central and southern profiles are quite wel/ correlated between them, showíng a/so some seasonal changes and an anoma/ous erosion which is explained from tide and meteorological observations, as we/1 as from the evidence that a new resort acts as a barrier avoiding aeolian {luxes of sediments to reach the beach.
