Abstract: The Distance Learning Structure (known as "Estructura de Teleformacion" in spanish) of the Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC) is the response of our university to the blended-learning paradigm. Within the framework of this type of education, the proposal of ULPGC aims to provide a policy of quality and excellence in order to overcome the problems inherent in the region's insularity. Currently six different degrees are taught with this method, among which stands out the degree in Safety and Risk Control. This paper shows how introducing our students into the labour market helps to consolidate all the knowledge acquired through the degree. The success of this approach is shown through cooperative work, relocation of the learning environment, and the motivation to steer education towards the labour market.
