Abstract: In this paper, different thermal-mechanical treatments were applied on Ti6Al4V alloy and structural characteristics were correlated with anticorrosive properties in Ringer-Brown solution. Alloys present self passivation with more electropositive corrosion potentials than of titanium; all electrochemical parameters have improved values, resulting the beneficial effect of the thermal treatment. Both alloys and base metal are very resistant in Ringer-Brown solution. Metallographic studies show that the thermal-mechanical treatments increased the corrosion resistance of the alloys in physiological fluids.
