Organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) and deviant workplace behavior (DWB) are the two non-task, or extra-role, behaviors more studied in recent research. Regarding OCB, it is confirmed that those behaviors play an important role in determining the global job performance. Similar results are provided in the case of DWB. This study suggests non-task behaviors (OCB and DWB) also denominated informal or extra-role can generate a greater perceived quality of teaching by the students through their two dimensions: targeting the organization (OCB-O and DWB-O) and individuals (OCB-I and DWB-I). Data were collected from 270 teachers and 22,599 students of a Spanish public university. An analysis based on multiple regressions reveals that OCB as DWB indeed affect the teaching satisfaction of students, but that this effect is greater in the case of OCB than DWB.en_US
