Términos y estructuras para designar los referentes del evento futbolístico en el diario L’Équipe

Abstract

El objetivo del presente artículo consiste en identificar las estructuras sintácticas y los términos utilizados para aludir a los referentes más relevantes del evento futbolístico a partir de un corpus constituido por diez notas periodísticas del diario deportivo francés L’Équipe. Con esta investigación pretendemos contribuir a la caracterización lingüística del discurso deportivo en francés y, más concretamente, del texto periodístico futbolístico. Para examinar el corpus, primero identificamos los términos y estructuras empleados en las notas de L’Équipe para designar los referentes más prototípicos del evento futbolístico, esto es, equipos, jugadores, entrenadores, jugadas, y otros. Posteriormente, determinamos las frecuencias con las que se menciona cada referente tanto en términos de casos (tokens) como de tipos (types). Finalmente, examinamos la configuración de los términos y las estructuras.

This article identifies the syntactic and lexical structures most commonly used by sports journalists to designate the referents of football events in a corpus of ten articles from the French sports newspaper L’Équipe. This allows us to contribute to the linguistic characterization of sports discourse in French, especially football newspaper articles. In order to analyze the corpus, we will first identify the terms and syntactic structures used in articles from L’Équipe that refer to the most prototypical elements of the football event, i.e., teams, players, coaches, moves, and other elements. Secondly, we will determine how regularly journalists mention each one of these referents in terms of types and tokens. Finally, we will examine the syntactic configuration of the structures.
