The main objective of the thesis is to develop a radio frequency identification (RFID) system to transmit energy between a tag located on a free-swimming fish in an aquaculture tank and a base station located outside the tank. The RFID system operates at the frequency of 134.2 kHz. In particular, in this thesis, the ad-hoc antenna design and transmission stage of an RFID system operating, optimized for distance and energy efficiency, is designed and developed.en_US
