Title: | Thermodynamic properties of (a propyl ester + an n-alkane) at 298.15 K II. {xC3H7CO2C3H7 + (1 − x)n-CmH2m + 2}, (m = 6 to 10) | Authors: | Lorenzana, M. T. Legido, J. L. Jiménez, E. Fernández, J. Pías, L. Ortega, J. Paz Andrade, M. I. |
Issue Date: | 1990 | Publisher: | 0021-9614 | Journal: | Journal of Chemical Thermodynamics | Abstract: | Excess molar enthalpies HmE and excess molar volumes VmE of (propyl butanoate + an n-alkane) at 298.15 K and atmospheric pressure are presented for the n-alkanes C6 to C10 over the whole mole-fraction range. Values of HmE were determined using a Calvet microcalorimeter, and of VmE from densities measured with a vibrating-tube densimeter. The HmE and VmE values are all positive, increasing with the length of the n-alkane chain. The experimental results are compared with the predictions of several group-contribution models. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10553/52152 | ISSN: | 0021-9614 | DOI: | 10.1016/0021-9614(90)90197-X | Source: | The Journal of Chemical Thermodynamics[ISSN 0021-9614],v. 22(3), p. 263-268 |
