dc.description.abstractThe excess molar thermodynamic properties HEm and VEm of {xCH3(CH2)u-1CO2CH3 (u=1 to 6) + (1-x)CH3(CH2)8CH3} have been determined experimentally at the temperature 298.15 K. The general behaviour is similar to that of other (an ester + an alkane) mixtures, the values of HEm and VEm being positive for all these mixtures at all mole fractions. Both decrease quasi-regular as the ester chain-length increases. The results are analysed in terms of several group-contribution theories. © 1993 Academic Press Ltd.en_US
