dc.description.abstractWave energy potential along the west coast of Fuerteventura Island is explored with special emphasis on its availability, as well as on the spatial, seasonal, and directional variability of this resource. For this, long-term data sets derived by means of hindcasting techniques for six points around the island are used. Results demonstrate the wave energy potential on the eastern flank of the island and its remarkable seasonality and relatively low directional variability. The latitudinal variability becomes significant only during winter.en_US
