Abstract: Two clinical cases of patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and poor response to conventional treatment are described. Patients received immunosuppressor treatment with azathioprine (AZA) and developed hepatic hemangiomas without detectable hepatic pathology previous to the treatment with AZA. The hepatic iatrogenesis of AZA is discussed, as well as the etiopathogenic hypothesis regarding hepatic hemangioma.
