Economic and cultural impediments to university education in Spain

Abstract

An analysis by logit models shows that access to university education in Spain is significantly affected by family income. An even more determinant factor is the cultural and educational level of the family of the potential student. Scholarships cushion the impact of low incomes on education, but not the impact of the cultural and educational level of the family.
