Braquiterapia intersticial con iridio-192 en el tratamiento de recidivas de tumores cerebrales tras cirugía y radioterapia

Abstract

Siete pacientes con el diagnóstico de tumores malignos cerebrales recidivados tras cirugía y ra- dioterapia, fueron tratados en la CIínica Puerta de Hierro de Madrid con braquiterapia interstícial con lridio-l92. Los implanfes se realizaron me- diante estereotaxia con control de TAC cerebral, estando la distribu,ción de los catéteres y pres- cripción de la dosis determinada por las reglas del Sístema de París para braquiterapia intersti- cial. La dosis media liberada fue de 50-65 Gy es- timados en Ia isodosis de referencia. Al último seguimiento todos menos un paciente están vi- vos y sin evidencia de progresión tumoral.

Seven patients with recurrent malignant pri'mary brain tumors after surgery and radiation the- rapy were treated at the Clinica Puefta de Hierro (Madrid) by interstitial brachyterapy with 192-lr sources. lmplantations were performed using computerized tumography and dose prescription were determined following the Paris system rules for ínterstitial implants. The mean dose delivera' ted was 5O to 65 Gy to the reference isodosis. At the last follow-up all patients except for one are alive and without evidence of progression of the disease.
