Abstract: Begining with the concepts and techniques of Artificial Vision and Systems Theory, the main goal of this paper is the analysis and synthesis of a formal general model to be the base for the design of visual automatic inspection systems and its implementation and testing in a real case of fault detection using digital images acquired through a camera-computer chain.
