dc.description.abstractAdvances in digital gallium arsenide (GaAs) HEMT technology have progressed to the point where it is now possible to design and fabricate very fast processors of moderate complexity using this new technology. The implementation of very-high-frequency online architectures are of particular interest. In this paper, we present a design methodology using the ring notation for the implementation of ultra-high-speed HEMT circuits. The characteristics and performance of basic logic primitives that are suitable for HEMT-based serial architectures and online processing elements are presented in order to illustrate our layout approach.en_US
