Abstract: A novel adaptive motion vector post-processing technique is proposed to obtain near true motion vectors in order to achieve a low cost rate-distortion optimisation for very low bit rate video coding applications. Compared with an H.263 baseline model, improvements in the peak signal-to-noise ratio of up to 0.21 dB are obtained.
