Abstract: In this paper we present a mobile information system for a public utility company of road transport. The main achievements are the improvement of the following strategic aspects: service for the users, planning and decision making of the enterprise. The most relevant system characteristics are: the use of new information technology and the use of standard technology. Now the system is working on the Gran Canaria island, Spain, by the road passengers transport company Global Salcai-Utinsa, which has integrated the information produced on board in real time by this system.
