dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this paper is the analysis of the territorial cohesion level that has been achieved during last years in The Canary Islands for what the demographic growth is used like main indicator of this fact. Thus, firstly, we analyse some of the principal factors of the socioeconomic regional growth carried out from 1991 to 2001. Secondly, we study the causes of this spectacular demographic process, and finally, we prove the differences being between dynamical zones and areas in declivity in the Islands as well as their territorial consequences.en_US

dc.description.notasEl objetivo de este trabajo es analizar el grado de cohesión territorial que se ha logrado en los últimos años en Canarias, recurriendo al crecimiento demográfico como indicador esencial de ese fenómeno. Para ello, en primer lugar, abordaremos algunos de los principales factores del crecimiento socioeconómico regional registrados entre 1991 y 2001; en segundo lugar estudiaremos qué causas han impulsado un proceso de crecimiento demográfico tan espectacular en términos generales. Y, en tercer lugar, pondremos de manifiesto finalmente el contraste resultante en zonas dinámicas y en zonas en declive así como sus principales consecuencias territoriales.en_US
