La carta etnográfica de gran canaria. En perspectiva

Abstract

El presente trabajo tiene por objeto realizar una revisión en perspectiva de la utilidad y difusión de la Carta etnográfica de Gran Canaria respecto a la puesta en valor del patrimonio etnográfico y su protección. Se mide el alcance que haya podido tener en diferentes medios de comunicación, en la producción científica especializada, en internet y en documentos de planeamiento urbanístico, tanto insular como municipales. Las conclusiones evidencian que existe una mayor presencia de la temática etnográfica en la prensa escrita, que la producción científica no manifiesta un crecimiento claro como resultado de la realización de la Carta etnográfica, pero sí que existe más de una veintena de publicaciones que la han utilizado como fuente de estudio, que el conocimiento de la etnografía por parte de alumnos universitarios es minoritario y, lo más importante, que ha habido una repercusión positiva y favorable de la etnografía en los instrumentos de ordenación.

The aim of this paper is to review the usefulness and dissemination of the Ethnographic Charter of Gran Canaria, regarding the enhancement of ethnographic heritage and its protection. It measures the scope it may have had in different media, in specialized scientific production, on the internet and in urban planning documents, both insular and municipal. The conclusions show that there is a greater presence of ethnographic themes in the written press, that scientific production does not manifest a clear growth as a result of the realization of the ethnographic Charter, but there are more than twenty publications that have used the Charter as a source of study, that the knowledge of ethnography by university students is minority and, most importantly, there has been a positive and favourable impact of ethnography on planning documents.
