Abstract: This work shows the potential of common reed biomass for biocomposite manufacturing. Common reed harvested in summer and winter 2023 in South Finland was analysed and biobased composites were produced by dry blending common reed with PLA matrix, followed by twin screw extrusion- injection moulding. Mechanical and thermal properties were tested. This study shows potential for utilizing common reed biomass in biobased composites, providing valuable insights into its potential asanaturalfillerinpolymer(PLA)matrices.
