Abstract: During his brief life, the galdense artist Antonio Padrón dedicated himself to representing everyday scenes, among which are paintings on Santeria, an Afro-Cuban aspect of witchcraft, one of the most popular practices punished by the Inquisition and transferred to the Canary Islands after the conquest. The objective of this study is the iconographic analysis of these characteristic works of art by Padrón and the relevance of intangible heritage based on knowledge of the practice of Santeria in its context, thus demonstrating the artist's unique vision regarding the presentation of magic and the strong bond between Cuba and the Canary Islands through his work.
