La consideración sobre el derecho a una “muerte digna” ha sido objeto de numerosos debates sobre si se configura como un derecho personal o si se debe reconocer como un auténtico derechofundamental. El presente trabajo, pretende visualizar una nueva situación que es directamente derivable de la dignidad y su más que necesario reconocimiento como soporte fundamental en el reconocimiento del derecho personal y la obligación por parte de las instituciones sanitarias de garantizar el pleno desarrollo personal como garantía de la libertad que debe ostentar toda persona en la toma de sus decisiones.
