Intervención arquitectónica en el patrimonio habitual: el método Livingston y las casas chorizo

Abstract

Durante más de cincuenta años, se ha utilizado el método Livingston de diseño participativo en reformas de casas chorizo en Argentina. El objetivo de la investigación es comprobar la adecuación del método Livingston para las intervenciones en patrimonio habitual. El estudio de caso múltiple abordado revela una aproximación precursora y singular en el campo de la intervención arquitectónica patrimonial, en la que personas y espacio constituyen un vínculo indisoluble. Además, se manifiesta que los pasos y herramientas del método Livingston pueden servir en múltiples contextos de patrimonio habitual con alta participación de los habitantes.

For more than fifty years, the Livingston method of participatory design has been used in the renovation of casas chorizo in Argentine. The aim of the research is to test the suitability of the Livingston method for everyday heritage interventions. The multiple case study approached reveals a pioneering and unique approach in the field of architectural heritage intervention, in which people and space constitute an indissoluble link. Furthermore, it shows that the steps and tools of the Livingston method can be used in multiple contexts of everyday heritage with high participation of the inhabitants.
