Análisis y caracterización del género Pliego de condiciones de productos agroalimentarios con DOP/IGP (inglés-español)

Abstract

Las denominaciones de origen protegida (DOP) y las indicaciones geográficas protegidas (IGP) son instrumentos jurídicos de protección de los productos y los lugares en que se originan, mediante los cuales se protege también la cultura y la tradición que están detrás de un producto comercial. Como marca de calidad, el refrendo del origen consigue aumentar el sentimiento positivo y el reclamo publicitario, que se transforma en ventas nacionales e internacionales. El objetivo de este trabajo es abordar el estudio de un género textual muy poco tratado en el ámbito de las indicaciones geográficas. En particular, la metodología incluye una introducción al contexto situacional y al marco teórico para el análisis textual, la identificación de los géneros relacionados con el origen de las mercancías (DOP/IGP), recopilación y análisis de un corpus bilingüe (inglés-español) de Pliegos de condiciones de distintos productos agroalimentarios españoles con DOP/IGP con el fin de caracterizar este género particular. El análisis cualitativo textual se apoya en el modelo de Nord (1991) que integra factores extratextuales (situacionales) e intratextuales (lingüísticos) y en trabajos anteriores (Hatim y Mason, 1990; Van Dijk, 1980; Valderrey Reñones, 2006; Socorro Trujillo, 2008; 2023). Las conclusiones incluyen consideraciones sobre la caracterización y traducción de estos documentos comerciales.

Protected designations of origin (PDO) and protected geographical indications (PGI) are legal instruments for the protection of products and the places where they come from, which also protect the culture and tradition behind a commercial product. As a mark of quality, the endorsement of origin aims to increase the positive sentiment conveyed by the place in question and its promotional appeal, which is transformed into national and international sales. The aim of this paper is to address the study of a textual genre that has received very little attention in the field of geographical indications. In particular, the study includes an introduction to the situational context and the theoretical framework for textual analysis, the identification of the genres related to the origin of the goods (PDO/PGI), the collection and analysis of a bilingual corpus (English-Spanish) of specifications of different Spanish agri-food products with PDO/PGI in order to characterise this particular genre. The qualitative textual analysis is based on Nord's (1991) model which includes extratextual (situational) and intratextual (linguistic) factors and in previous studies (Hatim y Mason, 1990; Van Dijk, 1980; Valderrey Reñones, 2006; Socorro Trujillo, 2008; 2023). The conclusions include considerations on the study and translation of these business documents.
