Abstract: Enthalpy-of-mixing measurements are reported at 298.15 K for 1,1,2,2-tetracllloroethane + n-alkanes (pentane trouglh heptadecane). All the mixtures are endothermic witta molar excess enthalpies increasing regularly with the chain length of the n-alkane. The experimental data are in good agreement with the values predicted by the DISQUAC group contribution model for n-alkanes containing less than eight C atoms. The discrepancies increase with the chain length of the n-alkane up to 10% (in the central range of composition) for heptadecane.
