Issue Date: | 2024 | Conference: | 1st CONGRESS BRIDGE to AFRICA | Abstract: | Agriculture is an ideal activity for soil sequestration since the in crease in organic matter in the soil contributes to its fertility, al lowing for greater crop yields. Reclaimed water represents an op portunity for mitigation. In 3 campaigns carried out in Nov 2019, July 2020 and Dec 2021, soil respiration was measured in the fi eld with commercial equipment (Lc-Pro), also determining MO and EC in the soil samples. The study has provided experimental values of soil respiration, relating them to the conditioning factors, contrib uting to a better understanding of the C cycle in the semi-arid re gions of Africa. In addition, it has demonstrated the high potential for both C sequestration and food production when drip irrigation with regenerated water is available. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10553/130798 | ISBN: | 978-84-9042-527-5 | Source: | 1st CONGRESS-BRIDGE to AFRICA [ISBN 978-84-9042-527-5], p. 51-57 |
