| en_US |
dc.description.abstract | Some habits, rituals and artistic expressions have been kept among the different Berber tribes from the North of Africa and the people who lived in the Canary Islands a few centuries before the Christian era. Nevertheless, in many cases, they have lost their original meaning, their symbolic associations, and they have become the mechanical repetition of a series of rituals or primitive signs. By researching and compiling different items of the material culture of this people —with common and disparate features, at the same time— we have tried to approach that communicative language which they could have shared and which we consider to be greatly linked to magic beliefs and rituals | en_US |
