In the context of cultural tourism, this paper aims to analyze the potential of museums and archaeological sites of Gran Canaria as a tourist resource. For this, the offer is analyzed through the type, ownership, management and location, as well as the demand, through the number of visitors and their origin. The initial sample consists of thirty museums and archaeological spaces, extracted from the official tourism website of Gran Canaria. The results show that the highest percentages of tourists among the visitors are produced in the archaeological sites, which are usually located in areas far from the tourist places of reference, and also in those in which there is a greater correlation with searches on the internet. This suggests that the public that visits this type of spaces is a tourist motivated by knowing the culture of the island, which is very important for an adequate management of these spaces.
