La maldición de los Turner: propuesta de ruta literaria

Abstract

La maldición de los Turner (Miguel Ángel Guelmí, 2018) es una novela ambientada en Inglaterra y Gran Canaria en los siglos XIX y XX. A través de la trama el lector asiste tanto al recorrido espacial (que incluye escenarios significativos desde el punto de vista de la presencia inglesa en Gran Canaria) como evolutivo (son varias las generaciones afectadas) asociado al desarrollo de la historia. Los personajes hablan su lengua: los españoles en español y los ingleses en inglés. Sin traducción. Si bien es un libro bilingüe no está pensado para el aprendizaje del inglés pues el peso del español es muy superior. Este factor ha hecho de esta obra una propuesta interesante de lectura tanto para alumnado del programa AICLE (Aprendizaje Integrado de Contenidos y Lenguas Extranjeras) como de Escuelas Oficiales de Idiomas. Su recorrido espacial propicia el desarrollo de una ruta literaria, con la que ya cuenta, lo que posibilita el acercamiento de los lectores a la obra ya que pueden transitar los mismos escenarios que sus personajes favoreciendo así la implicación emocional y, por ello, la animación lectora.

This factor has made this novel an interesting reading proposal for students of the CLIL program (Integrated Learning of Contents and Foreign Languages) and Official Language Schools. His spatial tour propitiated the development of a literary route, which he already has, which makes it possible for readers to approach the play since they can go through the same scenarios as its characters, thus favoring emotional involvement and, therefore, encouraging reading
