The art of Antonio Padrón tells the history of Gran Canaria through the representation of its flora and fauna that accompany both men and women in their arduous agricultural work, where the figure of the latter stands out. His paintings are loaded with symbolism, which offers both visual and identity appeal by representing the mentalities of the time, since it concerns the beliefs of the Canarian agricultural community, his own vision and personal life. Our thesis aims to clarify his life, his artistic journey and which were the greatest sources of inspiration for him by comparing him with different relevant artists in the art world. The main objective is to give the deserved value to his artistic heritage. An art, whose accumulation of symbols and unique and innovative vision only knew how to express himself by representing, with his singular form, the essence of the Canarian. |
