dc.description.abstractIn this paper, the energy models of six hotels were compared. Food and beverage (F&B) service demands the highest amount of energy (over 50%), followed by the hot water system. A regression analysis revealed that, among 31 different characteristics, the revenue per available room, the pool volume, the number of diners and the mean number of guests per occupied room can explain the total energy demand of the studied hotels. The possibility of including photovoltaic solar energy could increase the renewable contribution of the energy mix by 8–30%, but this highly depends on the available surface for this installation in each hotel.en_US
