This paper analyzes some of the intertextual metaphors found in a corpus of political speeches published in 2013 by the newspaper El País. As ideological deictic devices linking texts to a certain cultural cognitive model, these metaphorical projections help the readers infer how the writers judge the actions and decisions of the party governing Spain. Their translation into French underlines the difficulties for the translator from a different cultural community.en_US
