El Ragnarôk: ¿el final de los tiempos? Apocalipsis o "el destino de las potencias" en el universo mitológico nórdico

Abstract

En el presente artículo se analiza, si el apocalipsis de la mitología nórdica o "Ragnarók" es realmente el final de los tiempos o del mundo; en la medida en que este cataclismo no afectaría a todos los seres del universo por igual, incluidas las principales divinidades. Por ello, intentaremos dar una interpretación del papel simbólico y clave que juega el Ragnarók en el universo mental escandinavo.

This paper examines whether the revelation of Norse mythology or "Ragnarok" is really the end of time or the end of the world, and the extent that this cataclysm would not affect all beings of the universe alike, including the main divinities. For this reason, we will try to give an interpretation of the symbolic and key role that Ragnarok played in the Scandinavian mental universe.
