Fecha de publicación: | 2024 | Editor/a: | Servicio de Publicaciones y Difusión Científica de la Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC) | Conferencia: | 1st CONGRESS BRIDGE to AFRICA | Resumen: | This paper addresses the Spanish legal problems, transposed from the EU Directive on traffi cking in human beings for the pur pose of sexual exploitation, which has a clear gender signifi cance, given that, unlike the other purposes that are also contemplated in the crime (labor exploitation, organ traffi cking or the commis sion of crimes), this one aff ects almost only women who are traf fi cked for prostitution. Likewise, within this markedly feminine character, it is marked by the economic dimension, i.e., women are traffi cked from countries, mainly African and South American, to be exploited in Europe. Within this framework, the fundamental characteristics of the crime of human traffi cking in its modality of sexual exploitation will be analysed, making reference to the typical conducts and their aggravations. Likewise, the diffi culties that arise in the fi eld of evidence in the criminal prosecution of such crimes will be pre sented, with special reference to the singularities that also arise in relation to the traffi cking of African women, especially in the area of the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands. This work methodologically addresses not only the study of Span ish doctrine and jurisprudence on the crime of traffi cking for the purpose of sexual exploitation, but also European and interna tional regulations on the subject, analysing the statistical data on the judicial application of this crime. This work is part of the Trasex Report prepared by an interdisci plinary group of researchers from the ULPGC and the ULL, within BtA CONGRESO_v5.indd 256 tA CONGRESO_v5.indd 256 13/05/2024 21:17:39 3/05/2024 21:17:39 257 the framework of a Research Project fi nanced by the Canarian In stitute for Equality of the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10553/131207 | ISBN: | 978-84-9042-527-5 | Fuente: | 1st CONGRESS-BRIDGE to AFRICA [ISBN 978-84-9042-527-5], p. 256-271 |
