Janubio: La reinvención de los espacios salineros

Abstract

El siguiente trabajo pretende mostrar la importancia que ha tenido la sal en las Islas Canarias, la degradación, conservación o reinvención de sus paisajes salineros y, las propuestas de revitalización de las Salinas de Janubio; se prestará atención a su valor biológico, gastronómico, paisajístico y cultural, haciendo un repaso de su historia. Del mismo modo, se examinará su potencial turístico respetando el entorno natural y arquitectónico.

The following essay tries to show the importance that salt has had in the Canary Islands, the degradation, conservation or reinvention of its salt landscapes and the revitalisation suggestions of the Salinas de Janubio; attention will be paid to its biological, gastronomic, scenic and cultural value, making a review of its history. In the same way, its tourist potential will be examined respecting the natural and architectural environment.
