Sondeo clínico de la eficacia del uso del rutin en el tratamiento de quilotórax felino y canino en Estados Unidos

Abstract

El sondeo clínico que presentamos se realizó en Estados Unidos mediante el envío postal de un cuestionario clínico, con el fin de averiguar el uso y efectividad del rutin en el tratamiento de quilotórax felino y canino. El cuestionario se envió a un total de 2000 clínicas u hospitales veterinarios y se obtuvieron 795 respuestas (39.75%), de las cuales 542 (68,18%) centros reconocieron no haber tenido ningún caso de quilotórax en los últimos 5 años. Por otra parte, 253 (31,82%) centros contestaron afirmativamente aportando un total de 76 perros y 297 gatos. El rutin fue administrado en un total de 26 perros y 75 gatos.ç

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the administration and effectiveness of rutin in the therapeutic management of feline and canine chylothorax. We present a clinical survey undertaken in the United States, designed to discern the rate of use and effectiveness of rutin in animals with chylothorax. We received 795 responses (39.75 %) to the 2000 questionnaires, among which 542 clinicians (68.18 %) stated that they had not diagnosed chylothorax in their practice in the past 5 years. 253 (31.82 %) veterinary centers answered in the affirmative, contributing to our study information which included 76 dogs and 297 cats.
