Enterobacterias en hígado de Psittacus erithacus

Abstract

En la necrosia de un loro cautivo gris africano de cola roja (Psittacus erithacus) se ha extraído su hígado para realizar un estudio bacteriológico. Este animal, antes de su muerte, presentó un cuadro de disfunción del aparato respiratorio superior. En el estudio bacteriológico del hígado hemos aislado tres especies de enterobacterias: Klebsiella ornithinolytica (Raoultella ornithinolytica), Citrobacter koseri y Providencia rettgeri. Pensamos que estas bacterias pueden haber jugado un importante papel en la muerte de este animal.

In the necropsy of a captive African Grey parrot (Psittacus erithacus) we have obtained the liver for a bacteriological study. This animal, before his death, shows upper respiratory distress. In the bacteriological study of the liver, we isolated three strains of Enterobacteriaceae: Klebsiella ornithinolytica (Raoultella ornithinolytica), Citrobacter koseri and Providencia rettgeri. We belived than these bacteria may be played an important role in the death of this animal.
