Issue Date: | 2011 | Journal: | Revista Iberoamericana de Psicologia del Ejercicio y el Deporte | Abstract: | Self-efficacy and collective efficacy have been well studied in sport contexts. Since Bandura’s first publication (1977), of the self-efficacy construct, there have been over 300 research articles published on self- and collective efficacy related to sport and motor performance. This research has continued to grow in North America and elsewhere around the world. In this paper, we describe new areas of research in sport self-efficacy: decision-making efficacy, preparatory efficacy, relational concepts of efficacy beliefs (i.e., tripartite efficacy), emotional intelligence as a source of coaching efficacy, efficacy dispersion, referee self-efficacy, and new measurement advances. We describe examples of research in these areas and suggest where more research is needed. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10553/7847 | ISSN: | 1886-8576 | Source: | Revista Iberoamericana de Psicología del Ejercicio y el Deporte.
