Abstract: Analysis of the landscape evolution in the isthmus of Jandía (Fuerteventura, Spain) between 1963 and 1992 has been carried out using Geographical lnforrnation System (GIS). The effect of human alterations on the aeolian sediment transport across the isthmus is considered using GIS data, as well as from the spatial and temporal variability of the sediments. Measurements of the aeolian transport rates by means of sediment traps have allowed us to determine the predominant pathways of the aeolian sediment flux.
